Instructions
Material not contaminated with feces should be submitted in a clean container to which moistened gauze or tissue has been added to prevent drying of the object. The container should be clean, but does not need to be sterile. Objects retreived from a commode or otherwise contaminated with feces should be transferred to an O&P vial containing formalin as soon as possible.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Do not submit organisms, such as ticks or spiders, that have been physically crushed as identification is not possible in that situation.
