Instructions
1. Sample the LOWER vagina [not the cervix]
2. Using the same swab, insert the swab into the rectum (through the anal sphincter).
3. Remove the swab and place into transport medium.

Transport Container
Submit Vaginal/Rectal dual site swab in an aerobic/anaerobic transport container/medium.
Transport Temperature
Samples may be transported Ambient, but the use of 4 C (Refrigerated) for transport provides the greatest sensitivity.
Specimen Stability
Transport as quickly as possible.
