Clinical Significance
Numerical and structural aberrations of chromosomes have been well defined in Hematologic malignancies and various other cancers. Chromosome analysis by karyotyping can identify clonal chromosomal abnormalities. In several instances these genetic changes are associated with characteristic disease pathology, prognostic values and may aid in making treatment decisions.
