Instructions
Peripheral Blood in a lavender top tube (EDTA) or Buccal swab (polyester-tipped, Dacron or rayon-tipped, all with plastic shaft).
Transport Container
Submit 5 mL Blood (Min. 1 mL): Do not centrifuge. Submit Buccal swab in a sterile container.
Transport Temperature
Blood or Swab: Refrigerated.
Specimen Stability
Blood: Ambient: 3 days; Refrigerated: 5 days; Frozen: Unacceptable
Buccal Swab: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 5 days; Frozen: 3 months
