Instructions
Obtain cervical scrapings as for Pap smear using either ThinPrep (Client Supply # P70098) or SurePath (Client Supply # P490527) fixative.
Transport Container
Submit cervical scrapings in Cytc Thinprep vial or SurePath vial or 2 mL (Min. 1 mL) aliquot of vial (Client Supply # B11700).

Clinical Significance
This test is useful in detecting high-risk papillomavirus genotypes associated with the development of cervical cancer and in triaging women with abnormal Pap smear results.
