Transport Container
Collect 4 mL whole blood in EDTA (lavender-top) tube. Maintain specimen at room temperature. Do not centrifuge.
Note: This test is not appropriate for patients less than 6 months old due to interference by Hemoglobin F. In these cases, it is suggested that Hemoglobin Electrophoresis (test code 1000459) be ordered.
