UML: Ship with ice pack during summer months. Transport specimens to the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory

Specimen Stability
FFPE Block: No expiration, stored at room temperature.
Nonbaked slides: 4 weeks prior to DNA extraction, stored at room temperature
Stained slides CANNOT be used for DNA extraction.

Methodology
Real Time PCR. The following mutations can be detected using the Qiagen therascreen KRAS RCQ PCR Kit: GLY 12 ALA, GLY 12 ASP, GLY 12 ARg, GLY 12 CYS, GLY 12 SER, GLY 12 VAL, GLY 13 ASP
Reference Range
Wild Type (No Mutation Detected). An interpretive report will be provided.
