Clinical Significance
The antibody screen is used to detect non-ABO red blood cell (RBC) antibodies. This test uses a three-cell screening panel to determine if
clinically significant RBC antibodies are present in the recipient's plasma (or serum). If an antibody is detected, an antibody identification
panel will be performed to determine its specificity. Please see Transfusion Practice Policy for more information.
