Instructions

Required for Testing: 1 mL BAL. If multiple samples on one patient are received, cell counts can be performed if clinically indicated. However, a differential will be performed on a single sample. Please designate which sample should receive differential

Specimen Stability

Ambient: 30 minutes Refrigerated 24 hours, However significant sample degeneration occurs after 2 hours

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Bloody specimen or excess mucous in specimen
