Sample must be centrifuged within two hours of collection. Serum must be removed from the red cells and put into aliquot tubes following centrifugation.

Clinical Significance
Test useful for diagnosis and prognosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
RF may be present in patients with other connective tissue diseases. A negative RF test does not excude RA. Patients with cryogrobulinemia or hyperlipidemia may have falsely positive RF results.
