One 4 mL gray top tube on ice
Pediatric: One gray top microtainer on ice.


Instructions
Sample should be immediately placed on ice after collection and transported to the lab without delay.


Transport Container
Sample must be centrifuged immediately after collection. Plasma must be removed from the red cells and put into aliquot tubes following centrifugation.

Unstable, transport to lab ASAP  
Ambient: Unstable  
Refrigerated: 3 days  
Frozen: 3 days


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Specimens not received on ice will be rejected.
Samples with gross hemolysis.
