Instructions
Do not send specimens with attached tubing on the container. AFB Culture (LAB304905) must be performed in addition
to PCR testing due to differences in sensitivity.


Specimen Stability
Ambient: 3 days   Refrigerated: 7 days


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Specimen sources other than sputum or BAL will be sent to a reference lab (see LAB304247- Mycobacteriumtuberculosis Complex, Molecular Detection, PCR).
