Tissue, fluid or aspirate samples in a sterile leak-proof container. 
Swab acceptable if dedicated for fungus culture.

Instructions
If Malassezia furfur is suspected, please indicate on requisition since special processing is necessary. See separate test
for fungal blood culture, order code AMBC ADULT MOLD BLOOD CULTURE (FILAMENTOUS/DIMORPHIC FUNGI).

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Multiple sputum or urine specimens received within a twenty-four hour period will be cancelled.
Specimens submitted on swabs must be designated  forfungus culture.  (i.e., multiple cultures are NOT performed ona single swab)
