Instructions
This test is used to test for catheter related bacteremia. Two sets of blood cultures should be drawn within a half hour of each other. One from a peripheral site, the other from the suspected line. Bottles must be labeled with the draw site and time of draw.
For pediatric or low blood volume patients see order code: PBC2 PEDS ROUTINE BLOOD CULTURE (2 BTLS)
For neonatal see order code: NBC1 NEONATAL BLOOD CULTURE (1 BOTTLE)
For suspected endocarditis see order code: EABC2 ENDOCARDITIS BLOOD CULTURE (2 BOTTLES)
