Instructions
Sample must first be sent to Cytology Department and the Cytology Department will forward samples that meet established guidelines to the Molecular Lab for testing. This test cannot be ordered by itself, it is a reflex test only.

Clinical Significance
Interpretation will be performed by the Molecular Department and the test results are independent from the Pap Smear Interpretation.
High-risk HPV (hrHPV) testing results will indicate whether a patient is positive or negative for hrHPV types, and will also state whether a
patient is positive for either HPV 16 and/ or 18 (ie genotyping). Genotyping will be automatically performed on all patients who have
hrHPV testing performed.
