Methodology
LS-MS/MS
Setup Schedule

Reference Range
Negative
Clinical Significance
Quantitative/definitive detection of both buprenorphine (and its primary metabolite, norbuprenorphine) and naloxone, with flexible interpretations to give results for true exposures to suboxone, buprenorphine, and naloxone, and simulated compliance (aka, film dipping or pill-shaving) for buprenorphine and suboxone. Quantitative results are only provided for positive results; negative results will have an interpretation of “Negative” and a component result of “Not detected”.
All results require interpretation with the patient’s clinical context (ie, disease states) in mind. Creatinine: results <30 mg/dL generally suggest that the specimen is overly dilute. This can result in falsely low drug screen results.
Cutoffs:
Buprenorphine, 10 ng/mL
Naloxone, 5 ng/mL
Norbuprenorphine, 10 ng/mL
