Preferred Specimen

Tissue: TissueBlock (preferred) Submit formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor tissue slides. Unstained surgical slides cut 3 microns thick. Also submit one H&E (3 microns thick) marked by pathologist for malignant area.

Minimum Volume

2 unstained slides and 1 H&E .

Transport Temperature

Ambient or refrigerated (prolonged transport conditions)

Specimen Stability

Block/Slides : Ambient(preferred). NEVER FROZEN

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Tissue: Necrosis of Tissue sample or inappropriate tissue fixation

Methodology
Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH)

Setup Schedule

Samples processed Monday through Saturday. Results reported Monday through Friday

Reference Range

An interpretive report will be provided.
