Clinical Significance
Use to diagnose and monitor diabetes melitus. Monitor prediabetes. This assay is not useful in determining day-to-day glucose control.
For patients with know hemoglobin variants without hemoglobin A, the preferred test for monitoring long-term glycemic control is Fructosamine (LAB1013).
