Instructions
Specimen must be obtained by a peripheral venous draw only. Centrifuge tube within 1 hour of collection. Plasma must be removed from cells and if not tested within 8 hours must be frozen. Use double spin technique: centrifuge sample, using a plastic transfer pipette, remove plasma and transfer to properly labeled polypropylene tube. Re-spin plasma, remove plasma using plastic transfer pipette and transfer to properly labeled polypropylene tube. Freeze tube.
