Preferred Specimen

Preserved stool is required:
Preserved stool (Stool placed in single Total Fix™ Ova and Parasite Transport vial)
Sputum, Bronch Wash, Bronchoalveolar lavage, Lung tissue, Intestinal tissue

Specimen Stability

Preserved stool specimens: Stool must be placed into an Ova and Parasite Transport vial (TotalFix™) within 2 hours of collection.
DO NOT refrigerate specimens.
DO NOT place specimens on ice.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Unacceptable specimens:
Unpreserved stool
Duodenal aspirate
Rectal swabs
