Instructions

Specimen must be delivered to laboratory STAT.

Fluids should be collected in a lavender top (EDTA) tube. (CSF – no anticoagulant required or recommended). Body fluids without anticoagulant may be accepted if these criteria are met:

1. May be submitted via syringe WITHOUT the collection needle

2. Should be free of LARGE clots

Note: Indicate source of specimen on specimen container and request form.

Reference ranges are age, sex, and methodology dependent.
