Instructions

1. Proper specimen collection is very important.  Venous specimens should be



  obtained without use of a tourniquet or immediately after the tourniquet is applied.



 



2. Alternately, the tourniquet can be removed after puncture, allow blood to circulate for



   several minutes, then draw.



 



3. The patient should avoid any exercise of arm or hand before or during collection of specimen.



 



4. Draw one 4 ml grey top  tube.



 



5. Centrifuge  within 15 min of draw. If unable to analyze immediately after spinning, the



    plasma must be separated into a pour-off tube and can be refrigerated.
