Extended Phenotype (serological)

Message
Patient Red Cell antigen typing involves identifying additional blood group antigns, such as C, c, E, e, K, Fya, Fyb, Jka, Jkb, S, and s. For patients that have not been transfused in the last 3 months, so we do not antigen type the donor cells that have been transfused. If they have been transfused in the last 3 months then Red Cell HEA Genotype is an alternative testing.

1 Red (clot) and 4 Lavender (EDTA) tubes


Minimum Volume
20-40mL for Lavender EDTA (If patient cannot give that much blood, we recommend Red Cell HEA Genotype minimum volume 2 mL in Lavender EDTA)
