Fetal Fibronectin 

Message
The fetal fibronectin specimen must be collected during a speculum examination before any other vaginal exam is performed.
Avoid contamination of swab or specimen with lubricants, soaps, disinfectants and creams.Specimen should NOT be collected less than 24 hours after intercourse. However a negative results is valid if the patient reports having intercourse within the last 24 hours. Patients with suspected or known placental abruption, placenta previa, or moderate of gross vaginal bleeding should not be tested. Specimens not tested within eight(8) hours of collection must be stored at 2-8 degress C and assayed within 3 days of collection or frozen and assayed within 3 hours to avoid degradation of the analyte. Donot expose to temperature >25 C
