Message
Tumor markers are used for screening and early detection of cancer, diagnosing cancer, determining the prognosis for certain cancers, monitoring treatment, detecting cancer recurrence. - Serial measurement of CA-125 is used in monitoring ovarian cancer treatment (efficacy and evidence of recurrence). - Also used for testing/monitoring high-risk women with family history of ovarian cancer (but not recommended for women with an average risk). Non-cancerous conditions with elevated CA-125 levels in the blood: normal menstruation, pregnancy, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Values obtained by different assay methods or kits may be different and cannot be used interchangeably. Test results cannot be interpreted as absolute evidence for the presence or absence of malignancy

Instructions
Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature. Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours

at -20 C : 9 months
