Methodology
This test is performed on the BIOPLEX 2200 multiplex bead immunoassay.
*All positive ANARF and ANA will reflex to ANA titer. *
ANA titer methodology is Indirect Immunofluorescence used to detect antibodies with affinity for HEp-2 cells
Setup Schedule
Performed Daily.
Clinical Significance
The ANA Screen detects the presence of clinically relevant circulating autoantibodies in serum, is intended for the qualitative screening of specific antinuclear antibodies (ANA). If positive screen, test will reflex the semi-quantitative detection of ten (10) separate antibody assays (Chromatin, Ribosomal P, SS-A, SS-B, Sm, SmRNP, RNP, Scl-70, Jo-1, and Centromere B) in human serum. The test system is used as an aid in the diagnosis of systemic autoimmune diseases.
