Welcome to the joint directory of services!
The purpose of this joint directory is to provide up to date information on tests that can be ordered in CPRS. This directory is divided into two main sections: general information about each department in the White River Junction, VT VA laboratory, and a test listing of all tests performed on site or sent to commercial or VA reference laboratories. Test information on in-house tests, is updated daily and reference lab test information is updated weekly.

The general information sections at the top of the directory listing include laboratory policies and general information about each laboratory section.
The individual test listings include:
"Test Code" -the Name of the test in Vista/CPRS. Collection sample and alternate collection sample(s) Collection instructions Transport instructions, Alternate test names, Rejection criteria Clinical information.
This manual will help you understand how the VA White River Junction, VT laboratory operates and will provide valuable information regarding the services offered.  The WRJ main laboratory is located at the VA White River Jct. 215 Main Street, White River Jct., VT. 05009 . The manual should be used as a first hand source for all questions concerning parameters of service, specimen requirements, special collection and handling of laboratory requests.
The VA White River Junction, VT serves the seven VISN 1 VA laboratories and their satellite outpatient clinics (CBOC’s) as a reference laboratory. The clinical laboratories in VISN 1 perform roughly 4,000,000 tests per year. They consist of a core of highly dedicated personnel who have continually maintained a high standard of excellence and have consistently ranked highly on the numerous survey programs in which they participate.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND LABORATORY ACCREDITATION
  1. The WRJ Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Services of VISN 1 are accredited and inspected by the following organizations:
    1. College of American Pathology (CAP)-Pathology, Clinical Laboratory, Cytology
    2. Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations
    3. American Association of Blood Banks (AABB)-coming soon
    4. The Food and Drug Administration for Blood Bank (FDA)
  2. The WRJ Pathology and Laboratory Services of VISN 1 participate in the CAP survey program for proficiency testing.
  3. The WRJ Pathology and Laboratory Services of VISN 1 participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs.
