Clinical Significance
Patient serum/plasma is tested against a three cell panel that contains 18 common red cell antigens. The majority of clinically significant red blood cell alloantibodies are detected by this test. If positive, a extended cell panel (antibody identification) will be performed to determine red blood cell antigen specificity.
