Instructions
Test should be performed between 24-28 weeks. Fasting specimen is not necessary. Draw 1 hour after 50 gram administration of glucose. Separate from cells within 1/2 hour.

Clinical Significance
The Glucose Tolerance Screen is designed to identify the presence of diabetes in pregnant women between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation.  This test is one hour in duration, includes a 50g dose of Glucose, and requires one blood collection after an hour.  A positive screen should be followed up with OB Glucose Tolerance , 3 hour, Two Step Diagnostic.
