Preferred Specimen
This order requires the following specimens:
  1. Sodium Citrate (Light Blue) Tube
  2. EDTA (Lavender) Tube


Minimum Volume
  1. Sodium Citrate Plasma: 5 mL
  2. EDTA Whole Blood: 2.5 mL


Transport Temperature
Room Temperature


Specimen Stability
Room Temperature: 4 hours
Refrigerated: Unacceptable
Frozen: 7 days at -20°C


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Clotted specimen, Fibrinated specimen, Hemolysis, Incorrect collection site, Underfilled tube.
