Measurement of corticosterone may help confirm the diagnosis of the very rare aldosterone deficiency disorder, corticosterone methyl oxidase (18-hydroxylase) enzyme deficiency where the ratio of corticosterone to 18-hydroxycosticosterone may be increased.
