Deliver specimen directly to the Laboratory Chemistry department testing personnel.


Specimen Stability
30 minutes


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Samples greater than 30 minutes old.


Clinical Significance
Venous blood gases are used to assess ventilation and/or acid/base balance.
