Limitations
Invalid results may occur when insufficient volume of reagent A is added. Used for in vitro diagnostic. Do not use test devices if foil pouch is damaged or open. Open pouch only just before testing. Do not touch test reaction area.

Clinical Significance

S. pneumoniae is the leading cause of community-acquired pneumonia and may be the most important agent in community-acquired pneumonia of unknown etiology. Pneumococcal meningitis frequently leads to permanent brain damage or death, can occur as a complication of ther pneumococcal infection or may arise spontaneously without any preceding illness.
