Clinical Significance
The mixing of the patient sample with normal plasma will correct the abnormality when the sample is deficient in a factor or factors. If the abnormality is due to the presence of an inhibitor or circulating anticoagulant, the abnormality will not be corrected. If there is partial correction but the result is still abnormal, further studies are required to rule out a weak inhibitor.
