Clinical Significance
Helicobacter pylori is a spiral-shaped, gram-negative bacillus that has been associated with gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and gastric malignancies. Patients with Helicobacter pylori infection nearly always develop antibodies to IgG and less frequently to IgA.
