Draw one Myco/F Lytic bottle per set; 1-5 mls per bottle. Blood to be cultured for fungi, Brucella, Francisella and Mycobacteria should be collected in a Myco/F Lytic Bactec Bottle. Myco/F Lytic Bactec Bottle supplied by MCL.

Clinical Significance

Fungal infections are most common among hospitalized patients, specifically with indwelling catheters, or who are immunocompromised. Blood culture is a sensitive method to detect invasive fungal infections.
