Serum (gold top) Tube: 0.5 mL; EDTA Whole Blood (purple top) tube: 2 mL


Instructions

Patient must have a Complete Blood Count that has been performed within 24 hours before collection of Anemia Study without Interpretation.

Limitations
Desferal (Deferoxamine Mesylate) can interfere with Iron and Iron Binding Capacity testing.

Clinical Significance

The Anemia Study Panel is a group of tests that are useful in determining the cause of anemia in patients with low hemoglobin and/or hematocrit.
