Clinical Significance
Estrogen and progesterone receptor assays are routinely performed on breast carcinomas to assess reponsiveness to endocrine therapy and prognosis. HER-2 is associated with cellular proliferation activity. Overexpression is observed in 25-30% of women with breast cancer.
