Clinical Significance
Deoxycorticosterone (DOC) is a weak mineralocorticoid derived from 21-hydroxylation of progesterone in the adrenal cortex. DOC is a precursor of corticosterone and aldosterone and, like cortisol, is under the primary control of ACTH.
