2 mL red blood cells collected in an EDTA, trace metal-free (royal blue-top) tube
Patient Preparation
Avoid seafood consumption for 48 hours prior to sample collection.
Minimum Volume
0.7 mL
Instructions
Centrifuge and separate plasma within 2 hours of collection. Leave RBC's in the original collection container and replace stopper. Submit in container with a non-heparin based anticoagulant. Tubes containing heparin based anticoagulants are not acceptable.
