1.5 mL plasma collected in 3.2% sodium citrate (light blue-top) tube

Instructions
Centrifuge the Sodium Citrate tubes (light blue top) ~2500 x g for 15 min at room temperature within 35 min of the time of blood collection. After the initial centrifugation, transfer plasma without disturbing the buffy coat, to an appropriate polypropylene tube and centrifuge again at 2500 x g for 15 min at room temperature. This step is required to insure that the platelet count is less than 10,000/mm3.
