Instructions
Collect sample at the end of shift.
The acidification of the urine with 1 mL acetic acid per 100 mL urine will prolong the stability of the analyte.

Clinical Significance
Excretion of hippuric acid is decreased in patients with intrinsic hepatic disease, such as cirrhosis or severe hepatitis.
