Instructions
Plasma
1. Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
2. Gently invert tube 8-10 times immediately after draw.
3. DO NOT SHAKE.
4. Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
5. Aliquot top layer from lavender top draw tube and place plasma into transport tube. Discard draw tube.
6. Label the transport tube EDTA PLASMA.
7. Store and ship refrigerated.
Serum
1. Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
2. Gently invert tube 5 times immediately after draw.
3. DO NOT SHAKE.
4. Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes.
5. Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
6. Pour serum into a transport tube. Discard draw tube.
7. Label the transport tube SERUM.
8. Store and ship refrigerated.
