Preferred Specimen

Special Requirements Chorionic villi, skin, other fetal tissues or membranes. 1 x 1 cm (minimum) sample if possible. Place 5 mL of tissue culture medium or 5 mL of sterile physiologic saline in the sample container along with the specimen. Submit a separate sample container for each specimen obtained. DO NOT ADD FIXATIVE. DO NOT FREEZE. Ship refrigerated ASAP.

Instructions

Completed Cytogenetics Requisition or Care360 ereq which must include: Clinical information, patient history, physician's name and contact numbers; and insurance/payment information. (The absence of relevant clinical information may compromise the report interpretation).
