Message

The BinaxNOWTM COVID-19 Ag Card is a lateral flow immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of nucleocapsid protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in direct nasal swabs from individuals suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within the first seven days of symptom onset. 

Positive test results do not differentiate between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV2



Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses.



Negative results do not preclude SARS-CoV2 infections and should not be used as the sole basis for patient management decisions.  



Negative results must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiology information.



COVID19 Antigen test is only for use under FDA Emergency Use Authorization.

Instructions
Specimen Collection:  Carefully insert the swab into the nostril. Using a gentle rotation, push the swab until resistance is met at the level of the turbinate (less than one inch into the nostril). Rotate the swab 5 to 10 times against the nasal wall. Slowly remove from nostril. Using the same swab, repeat steps in other nostril.  Once collection complete, place swab into dry red top vacutainer tube.
