Clinical Significance
Toxic syndromes are rapid and include flushing, headache,
dizziness, and tachypnea that may progress to respiratory
depression and death. 80% of cyanide is converted to
thiocyanate. Administration of sodium nitroprusside
contributes to the total body pool of cyanide and
complicates interpretation.
