Instructions
The pregnant patient is given 50g of Glucose, and the specimen is obtained 1 hour later.  No food can be eaten between drinking the glucose and the blood draw. Remove serum or plasma from the cellular material within 2 hours.

Clinical Significance
Simple glucose loading test, used to detect gestational diabetes at 24-28 weeks of gestation. Increased results should be confirmed by OGTT.
