Includes
Routine surgical tissue (i.e. biopsies, breast tissue, uterus tissue) 


Preferred Specimen
Tissue submitted in ample 10% formalin to cover the specimen.  Do not add formalin if special studies are requested (i.e. frozen sections, flow cytometry, chromosome analysis, electron microscopy, and IF).


Instructions
Specimens are processed Monday thru Friday when received in the laboratory prior to 4:30pm.  Submit tissue along with a competed Pathology Specimen Diagnosis Request form.  Inclue all essential information including pertinent clinical history.  Each breast specimen must include the time tissue was excised and time tissue was placed in formalin on the requisition.

Clean specimen container with Formaldehyde precaution label.
