Includes

Onsite assistance with slide preparation followed by immediate staining and evaluation of slides for adequacy of sample.  Submitting clinicians are invited to review slides during rapid read procedure in Ziskind 514 or can be paged/called with the result to any number provided.
Final interpretation and workup of case follows.




Preferred Specimen


Smears, needle rinse and cell block as triaged by Cytology Lab personnel.




Instructions
FNA pager 1006 should be paged minimally 10 minutes prior to start of procedure with following information readily available:
1.  Patient name and medical record number
2.  Anatomic site of FNA
3.  Clinical suspicion of Lymphoma?
4.  Location of patient/procedure


Transport Container
Cytology Lab staff will report to location with all necessary supplies.  Flat work surface needed for onsite slide preparation.


Transport Temperature
Room temperature.


Setup Schedule
Daily, Monday through Friday.  7am to 6pm.  Page Pathology Resident on call after hours.
