Methodology
The Cannon-Manning Semi-Micro viscometer is used for this procedure.
The procedure measures the time the serum takes to pass between 2
points as compared to water.

Setup Schedule
M-F:  9am-3pm.
Saturday-Sunday :  9 am-3pm by Pathologist approval only.
Page the Pathologist on call (x1280)


Reference Range
1.4-1.8  (ratio of serum to water)


Clinical Significance
Increased werum viscosity is seen with multiple myeloma and Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia.
